Don't wait up, my darlin'. Get your rest. And I'll be out in the middle of the night. When I get home, and you roll over, That's the time I like to write. -
When is the last time that you saw the sunrise? Oh how beautiful! And I can cook you breakfast; two cream, two sugar in your coffee. When you go to work I might play guitar or take a nap, so I'll sing:
You're gonna love me- you're gonna hate me sometimes too. But, baby I'm changing everyday for you. You wait, you watch: tomorrow I will make you smile. You know you can stand me for at least a little while.
I know it might be hard on you sometimes, baby, when you see me sweet-talkin' to everyone. Our worlds are different and it often makes our heads collide, but, I'll tell you the truth- for there's nothing here to hide. But, I see things that you can't see in the middle of the night like staring at the city from our Brooklyn rooftop. And when is the last time that we drank our wine and then we danced? Need I remind you that you gave me one more chance?
